Frontiers of Information Technology & Electronic Engineering 2020, Volume 21, Issue 8,   Pages 1119-1266 doi: 10.1631/FITEE.1900382

Abstract: The recommendation task with a textual corpus aims to model customer preferences from both user feedback and item textual descriptions. It is highly desirable to explore a very deep neural network to capture the complicated nonlinear preferences. However, training a deeper recommender is not as effortless as simply adding layers. A deeper recommender suffers from the gradient vanishing/exploding issue and cannot be easily trained by gradient-based methods. Moreover, textual descriptions probably contain noisy word sequences. Directly extracting feature vectors from them can harm the recommender’s performance. To overcome these difficulties, we propose a new recommendation method named the HighwAy recoMmender (HAM). HAM explores a highway mechanism to make gradient-based training methods stable. A multi-head attention mechanism is devised to automatically denoise textual information. Moreover, a method is devised to train a deep neural recommender. Empirical studies show that the proposed method outperforms state-of-the-art methods significantly in terms of accuracy.

Frontiers of Information Technology & Electronic Engineering 2023, Volume 24, Issue 6,   Pages 801-812 doi: 10.1631/FITEE.2300196

Abstract: In a multi-user system, system resources should be allocated to different users. In traditional communication systems, system resources generally include time, frequency, space, and power, so technologies such as time division (TDMA), frequency division (FDMA), space division (SDMA), code division (CDMA), and non-orthogonal (NOMA) are widely used. In , which is considered a new paradigm of the next-generation communication system, we extract high-dimensional features from signal sources in a model-based artificial intelligence approach from a semantic perspective and construct a model information space for signal sources and channel features. From the high-dimensional semantic space, we excavate the shared and personalized information of semantic information and propose a novel technology, named (MDMA)%29&ck%5B%5D=abstract&ck%5B%5D=keyword'>, which is based on the resource of the semantic domain. From the perspective of information theory, we prove that MDMA can attain more performance gains than traditional technologies. Simulation results show that MDMA saves more bandwidth resources than traditional technologies, and that MDMA has at least a 5-dB advantage over NOMA in the additive white Gaussian noise (AWGN) channel under the low signal-to-noise (SNR) condition.

Abstract: Multicomponent oxide (GaIn)O films are prepared on (0001) sapphire substrates to realize a tunable band-gap by technology followed by thermal annealing. The optical properties and band structure evolution over the whole range of compositions in ternary compounds (GaIn)O are investigated in detail. The X-ray diffraction spectra clearly indicate that (GaIn)O films with Ga content varying from 0.11 to 0.55 have both cubic and monoclinic structures, and that for films with Ga content higher than 0.74, only the monoclinic structure appears. The transmittance of all films is greater than 86% in the visible range with sharp absorption edges and clear fringes. In addition, a blue shift of ultraviolet absorption edges from 380 to 250 nm is noted with increasing Ga content, indicating increasing band-gap energy from 3.61 to 4.64 eV. The experimental results lay a foundation for the application of transparent conductive compound (GaIn)O thin films in photoelectric and photovoltaic industry, especially in display, light-emitting diode, and solar cell applications.

Ziyang XING, Hui QI, Xiaoqiang DI, Jinyao LIU, Rui XU, Jing CHEN, Ligang CONG,dixiaoqiang@cust.edu.cn

Frontiers of Information Technology & Electronic Engineering 2023, Volume 24, Issue 6,   Pages 844-858 doi: 10.1631/FITEE.2200507

Abstract: With the reduction in manufacturing and launch costs of low Earth orbit satellites and the advantages of large coverage and high data transmission rates, satellites have become an important part of data transmission in air-ground networks. However, due to the factors such as geographical location and people’s living habits, the differences in user’ demand for multimedia data will result in unbalanced network traffic, which may lead to network congestion and affect data transmission. In addition, in traditional transmission, the convergence of network information acquisition is slow and global network information cannot be collected in a fine-grained manner, which is not conducive to calculating optimal routes. The service quality requirements cannot be satisfied when multiple service requests are made. Based on the above, in this paper artificial intelligence technology is applied to the , and a software-defined network is used to obtain the global network information, perceive network traffic, develop comprehensive decisions online through , and update the optimal routing strategy in real time. Simulation results show that the proposed algorithm has good convergence performance and strong generalizability. Compared with traditional routing, the throughput is 8% higher, and the proposed method has load balancing characteristics.

Abstract: Finding the optimal optoelectronic properties (zero-order optical transmittance, shielding effectiveness, and stray light uniformity) of is significant for its application in electromagnetic interference shielding areas. However, there are few relevant studies at present. Based on optoelectronic properties, we propose a factor , which is simple in form and can be used to evaluate the mesh with different parameters in a simple and efficient way. The effectivity of is verified by comparing the trend of values with the evaluation results of the . The evaluation factor can also be extended to evaluate the optoelectronic properties of different kinds of es, which makes it extremely favorable for design and application.

Correspondence: Monopulse transmitarray antenna fed by aperture-coupled microstrip structure Correspondence

Na KOU, Shixing YU, Zhao DING, Zhengping ZHANG,nkou@gzu.edu.cn,sxyu1@gzu.edu.cn,zding@gzu.edu.cn,zpzhang

Frontiers of Information Technology & Electronic Engineering 2022, Volume 23, Issue 3,   Pages 502-510 doi: 10.1631/FITEE.2000547

Abstract: Monopulse technique, also known as the simultaneous beam comparison method, is used mainly to measure the direction of arrival (DOA) (Sherman and Barton, 2011). Before the advent of monopulse technology, the method most widely used in radar direction finding was the lobe-switching technique (sequential lobing) (Lo, 1999). Compared with the sequential lobing method, the monopulse antenna can obtain information such as the pitch angle, azimuth angle, and distance of the target in a single pulse period (Vazquez-Roy et al., 2019). Due to the need for higher accuracy of angle measurement, the monopulse technique has been widely applied in SOTM missile guidance (Roy et al., 2019). When a monopulse system is working, multiple independent channels are adopted to receive signals reflected by targets at the same time. Then signals enter the comparator and finally the distance and angle information of targets can be obtained. There are three main types of monopulse antennas: lenses, reflectors, and arrays. A dielectric lens is generally a convex lens (Raman et al., 1998), which is difficult to manufacture due to its curved shape, high volume, and large mass. For common reflectors such as dish antennas, the feed and supporting structure are in front of the aperture, so a shielding effect will result in energy loss, sidelobe increase, and angle measurement error (Kou and Cheng, 2019). A more effective reflector is the Cassegrain antenna, which is more compact with dual reflectors (Zheng et al., 2016, 2017). However, the Cassegrain antenna has the problem of shielding effect caused by a secondary reflector and support rods. With growing demand for low cost and lightweight monopulse antennas in modern radar and telecommunications systems, array antennas are increasingly applied in monopulse antennas due to their characteristics of high gain and easy control of the beam direction. A typical example is the waveguide slot array, which has the advantages of low loss, low sidelobe level, and no aperture shielding problem (Vosoogh et al., 2018). The microstrip has attracted much attention in monopulse antennas because of its advantages of low profile, simple structure, and low cost (Yu et al., 2009; Kumar and Kumar, 2018). However, monopulse microstrip array antennas usually have a complex feed network, which often makes them large and expensive. In addition, substrate integrated waveguides (SIWs) (Cao et al., 2017; Zhu et al., 2018; Liu et al., 2019; Yang et al., 2019) and leaky wave antennas (LWAs) (Poveda-García et al., 2019) have been applied in monopulse antennas, with good results. Recently, reflectarrays have been proposed for use in monopulse antennas, and have shown good performance (Zhao et al., 2017, 2018). As an alternative to reflectarrays, transmitarrays not only have the advantages of reflectarrays, but also have no shielding effect from the feeds. Di Palma et al. (2016) proposed a 400-element reconfigurable transmitarray antenna to synthesize monopulse radiation patterns. However, the sum and difference patterns generated by the reconfigurable transmitarray antenna, which is controlled electronically by switches instead of by a SUM-DIFF comparator, are in time division.
